FoodShare Kits
Starbucks is one of the top leaders in minimal waste and environmental company policies. The FoodShare program launched in 2016 where they partnered with Feeding America and packaged eligible unsold food every evening and delivered the meals to non-profits around the US. Their goal was to rescue 100 percent of unsold food available from over 8,000 stores across the US by the end of 2020. For all of 2019 Starbucks vowed to stop throwing out perfectly good food and to date they have fed over 20 million people through this program. To help advocate for more stores to participate in this program and spread the knowledge of this they have created kits that hold promotional tees. Within each kit there is 20 – 25 shirts to each store for all partners to wear. They’ve created a total of 90,000 FoodShare tees and have sent them to roughly 2,000 stores to utilize them.
